Bookkeepers are responsible for recording the day-to-day transactions. This includes everything from recording the income and expenses, processing payroll, and reconciling bank accounts. We have eyes on your finances constantly and can alert you when something looks out of place, or be available when you have questions throughout the year. Accountants take the financial data prepared by a bookkeeper, analyze it, and use it to give strategic tax advice. They also prepare your annual financial statements and tax returns. Having a clean set of books can save your accountant a lot of time at year end and make their job a lot easier.

No, I do not prepare tax returns for individuals or businesses. I prefer to leave that to someone who specializes in tax. However, I can help you claim the expenses you are entitled to and prepare all the documents needed so your accountant can do the taxes at the end of the year.

All of my services are priced as flat fees. No hourly rates, no surprises. Your monthly rate is based on the size and complexity of your business, which I assess through a Bookkeeping Diagnostic Review ($295 + GST) before we get started. Any cleanup work is quoted as a fixed price upfront, so you know the full cost before I begin. If your rate ever needs to change, I’ll always give you advance notice.

It starts with a free consultation, a short video or phone call so we can get to know each other and confirm we’re a good fit. From there, I’ll complete a Bookkeeping Diagnostic Review ($295 + GST) to assess your QuickBooks Online file. You’ll receive a written report of what I find, a call to walk through it, and a flat-fee quote for any cleanup, along with a recommended monthly package. To complete the review, I’ll need accountant access to your QBO file and your bank and credit card statements. You keep the report either way, whether or not we work together. Once we’re aligned, I get started right away.
